Better security.
Also if you know which machines you will be using on the wireless then lock down the router to those specific MAC addresses.

Not that it all matters that much. WEP is enough to discourage a casual look around or the person next door from using your system.
If someone knows what they are doing and is determined to get in then they are going to get in no matter what you do.
