distance between postal codes / zip codes? by MikeCDN2006-06-22 01:40:34
If you want to calculate it yourself by avernus 2006-11-19 12:55:59
and you're happy with straight line distances get a database of zipcode/postcodes and latitude/longitudes.

http://jibble.org/ukpostcodes/ provides info for UK area codes. (If you not more accurate date than that you have to pay the Post Office -- I think other countries let you have similar data for free).

You can then do something like this: http://www.zipcodeworld.com/samples/distance.php.html

The jibble.org data also contains OS co-ordinates in metres, so you could just use a simple bit of Pythagoras on it.

The curvature of the Earth won't make any significant difference if you are just sticking to one country.
