You'd be amazed at how ill you can get when you rip up the carpets of older pharmacies or are involved in installing automation in new ones.
When we installed robots in the V.A. Hines out-patient pharmacy the carpet had to be removed. Twenty years worth of random pill dust went into our lungs.
It would have been nicer if we got high, but we didn't: you see, one of the most common pills given to aging veterans is warfarin - that's also used as rat poison.
The automated pharmacies I've installed have thousands of pill counters shaking pills around, this leads to pill dust in the air.
Actually, the V.A. at Hines wasn't the worst by any means. Some of the pharmacies I've been in would scare you.
It's like sausage: it may taste good, but you don't want to see it being made. |
