Anyone install e17 on Gentoo before? by Celticess2006-04-12 19:21:15
  e17 on Gentoo by Robstafarian 2006-11-19 12:55:59
I'm running e17 on Gentoo right now (Althon64 32bit install), compiled from cvs. I created a directory in my home folder called "cvs", changed into it, downloaded the sources using the commands given at Get Enlightenment in the section labeled "CVS Development Sources", and then built it in the order given in the E17 CVS Build Notes.

The command './autogen.sh' runs './configure', so be sure to run it first with '--help' to see if there are any options you want to enable or disable (particularly the installation prefix, to avoid conflicts). I logged all my arguments to autogen for reference, I'll post them if you need them.

E17 is by no means finished, but I have found it to be pretty stable. If you're not comfortable running unstable software on your machine, don't give e17 another thought. If you want to compile it and you need more help, say the word.
