Seasonal Affective Disorder is often associated with people who suffer from BP. 4-6 months may be uncommon, but not necessarily untrue. Almost every case of BP is different. My wife doesn't go into a depression like someone suffering from SAD every winter, but when she is depressed, she rarely wants to have contact with other people.
