Who actually thinks about that sort of thing? We just worry about whether it has the juice to run the system. At a previous job the UPS was built in - it was the only way. The system was based on 3 diesel generators totalling around 1.5 megawatts, but obviously there would be a short time before the genny started up so there was a battery to bridge the gap. When I say battery, I mean a diesel-electric submarine's worth of battery.
