In most Unices your incoming mail is just one file	by lauterm	2006-04-12 01:27:04
Your incoming mail is in /var/spool/mail/username. You could theoretically export this file somehow (NFS or other), but you could run into locking issues where you lose mail. POP and IMAP take care of the locking for you. You may want to look at ESR's fetchmail program.
