I just replaced my motherboard (got a new one for by Arman X 2006-04-02 20:18:41
$1) [SSLR]

Gigabit lan, 6 channel surround sound, onboard sata, raid, etc... it's a ASUS A7V8X. Works, too, so it was a very good deal. Well, ok, even if it DIDN'T work, it was still a good deal; it came with all the standoffs, USB/Firewire connectors, and other things.

Anyway, I get it all installed... and XP says I need to re-activate it. Typical... I click on the activate button, and it says "Sorry, you have to call tech support and have them do it manually." Again, typical; I remember the last time I called, and the the guy's computer crashed. Heh heh.

Install drivers [putting off calling, now]... restart... the little "click here to activate this online" button comes up (again), and I click it (again) for a lark. And then... the impossible.

It activates. Even after it told me it wouldn't.

Um, in case anyone is looking for me, I'm hiding under this massive umbrella. 'Cause, y'know, if pigs fly... dang.
