Being able to do things that I couldn't normally do in real life, whether it be become a giant stone golem and become unkillable (City of Heroes) or hurl fireballs at people (Neverwinter Nights) or shoot the smirk off an enemy at 30ish yards (World of Warcraft). To be able to immersh yourself in the game, that's the real joy I think. And pardon the spelling or if it doesn't make sense, the brain's being a little slow right now.
