of game. When it comes to MMORPGs it's a combination of socializing and the fact that these games tends to be HUGE compared to non-online ones. And more free then single-player ones (Elder Scrolls series is an exception). Shooters is the fact that your team-mates and opponents aren't predictable and each match is (more or less) unique. Once they invent "perfect AI" for games, online gaming will be useless. ;)
