Stay away from the hard field trades (Infantry, tanker, artillery) and look at something that is recognized on Civilian street (Medical, Photographer, mechanic, adminstration clerk)
Also if you can get your hands on a Canadian training manual you'll be better equipped to survive your squad mates. The US military actualy has an "acceptable loss" figure on training exercises. Canada has a Zero loss policy, no death is acceptable. (not that is doesn't happen, but they are measured in deaths per year, not per exercise) |
