| Most military recruitment contracts have, by necessity, language in them that allows the Armed Forces to make changes as their needs change for reasons of protecting national security. This translates into pretty much what shminux described in his post -- the Forces can promise to send you to Hawaii, but can at any time decide that your skills are most needed in Antarctica.
Also don't forget that military recruiters are known to exaggerate and even outright lie. The only thing that is binding is inked on the paper you sign.
If you join the Forces, be prepared to hand your life over to them for the duration of your term, and perhaps longer. |
