We use Retrospect with somewhat similar hardware currently. We do a combination of firewire and USB at the moment. Stay away from the firewire. Win2k3 firewire seems a little jinky. We get hardware from Granite Digital. Retrospect works well with Mac, Windows, and Linux (RH7.3 through FC4 at least). HDs make disaster recovery much easier. You can always just hook the drive up to a PC to get the files off even if the old backup device was at ground zero.
