Okay, I'm doomed. by williamashbless 2006-03-31 09:58:46
I installed Oblivion. I played it through to the first 'quest' when the game opens up to the wide open world... and maybe a little further. Took a horse riding through the open wilderness to my next goal, got distracted by an unexpected underground temple in the middle of nowhere. (Trying to be not spoilerific here).

I am _so_ getting nothing done at home until I finish this game. I've only just started, maybe 90 minutes in, which is but a flesh wound, but it satisfies my immersion more than most CRPGs have in a very long time.

(Granted, I still have a major appreciation for the Ultima series, especially in the middle numbers, because of the story elements over the entirely straightforward graphics...)

We'll have to see if the story elements of Oblivion hold up against the visual world they created. I hate it when its all flash and glitter with no real substance. So far so good though.

Can someone slide a pizza under the door?
