they had student help to assist the computer-challenged. I walked into a lab one day to hear one of the assistants saying "No, sir, you really have to have the mouse ON the desk for it to work...". The user was waving it freely in the air. (No, they weren't talking to it.) Found out later it was the third time that day for the same discussion. My personal favorite from those days is still the student who had a spreadsheet saved to floppy disk, and couldn't get the computer to read it. They had carefully inserted the floppy in the manual drawer of a mainframe terminal.
