| Personally I don't think the problem is that "he thinks he has to kill his victims." I think the problem is that he DID kill his victim.
You do raise an interesting contrast between the murder the sex offence, though. I don't know the laws in Canada, but in the States, if someone is convicted as a sex offender, he/she is labeled for life. Even after "paying his debt to society," he'd have to register as an offender wherever he lives thereafter.
I'm not saying that's a bad idea (I have 3 kids and would like to know who lives in our neighborhood), but it strikes me as odd that a murderer is subject to less control after his sentence is served. |
