as for 11a over 11g, you'll have a lot more room and a lot less competition for space if you go for 11a. it's mostly under-utilized, where the 11b/11g band is crawling with junk (including mobile -not cellular - telephones and other consumer electronics). 11a is a tad more expensive, but it works very well.
as a side effect, since 11a is less used there are fewer of the low-end script-kiddies and war-drivers out scanning that band for nefarious purposes.
depending on the rom revision, some of the newer ones are crap, i use wrt54g routers for the 11g/11b side. |
