For that matter, why not get G routers? If you buy an A router (which I don't think you can even find them anymore), you'll be stuck between 1 and 2mbps forever. If you go with a G router and cards, you don't have to worry about connection speeds in the future.

I wouldn't install less than a G router and cards, and I would make certain they were from Linksys.

Linksys quality == Netgear quality.
Linksys price < Netgear price.
