Some of you may remember my quest a few weeks back for a card reader for my mac. Turns out, the device I would be receiving had been mis-described to me. it's not a card at all. It's a SecureID fob. So now it's time for me to download the vpn. Problem is, the web site address given for downloading it doesn't work. Regardless of whether I type the whole URL in (includes the /vpn portion) or just the domain, Firefox throws a "Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)" page. IE throws a "HTTP 400 - Bad Request" error with a "The page cannot be found" headline in the body of the page. I've tried using https rather than http... and that just made the browsers madder. I'm not sure what else to try. Any suggestions? I'm guessing that the phone number I was given for tech support won't have anyone answering it at this time of night on a friday -- especially as it's affiliated with a government agency. Feh. But hey -- at least once I get it working, I should be able to work either on my Mac desktop OR my PC laptop, whichever is more convenient at the time. And meanwhile, this is a cool little fob. I get to glance down and see new numbers on the digital readout every few minutes.
