It reads to me as he had visitation	by shorty82	2006-03-24 21:21:54
every other week and that the mother wanted to reduce it all the way down to only every other weekend. With the "rather than" I think he is talking about how a lot of times that evey other weekend is the visitation that courts seem to usually award the non-custodial parent.
