You get extra money to buy those nicer things you want. That and you don't have to rely on mom & dad. I haven't relied on my parents for anything but emotional support since I was 16. I had to start paying rent at 18 until I finally got my lazy butt to move out. I think you are very lucky that you are fortunate to NOT work. But someday you will and how will you be ready to handle that? Working gives you experience in the outside world. So that when you finally get out of college you know how to handle a44hole boss' and cow-orkers. -.-
