| I don't know what exactly my guru has done, but after a few years of yoga, my posture (both standing and sitting) has improved greatly.
Mostly, I just have to remember to keep my chest lifted. (mental imagery - everything above the navel goes up, everything below the navel goes down). I personally imagine a string tied to the breastbone (like a marionette) that someone is pulling up. Lifting the ribcage from there doesn't really use the back muscles as much as "pulling your shoulders back".
also, do neck (head) and shoulder rotations daily (or more frequently) to keep the muscles loose. |
