i had enough friends who were in bands, and had worked enough stages, that i could write up clear and concise specs for them.

most often, this was # of 20A circuits privided at X locations, # (list of 3 types) vocal microphones or pre approved equliivant or suprtior, etc , # bottles water, stage plot, monitor mixes and locations, band members preffered names and phycisal discriptions, # of crew, that sort of thing.

a few came back to me after they were more than local frat bands and had me redo their paperwork.

the batteries were for their wireless mics, and new in unexpired package (i spec'd energizer or duracell) meant their engineer knew they were good. the 2nd asst thing was to see if they could follow directions, so that when their only engineer was asked who the 2nd etc was he knew if things were probably kosher.

(now i work for a theatre planning and lighting design firm)
