It's basically a sheet of cardboard backing with a black tarry substance on it, and a plastic sheet covering it. You use a stylus to write on the plastic sheet, which presses it into the black stuff. The writing surface can be cleared by lifting the plastic sheet. I'd really like to find one of these.
