RAID 3 vs. RAID 5 - performance? by Myke 2006-03-24 07:45:41
Anyone done a good test of RAID3 vs. RAID5 in a workgroup server role? In Normal & Degraded modes? Does the non-striped parity cause any real pain? I almost wonder if a rebuild could actually be quicker with R3 in some situations...

I'm likly going R3 because there's no R5 GEOM class yet, and this is a very low use workgroup file server, but it's still got me thinking.
