How do we keep the memory of the Holocost surviors by Garrinka2006-01-24 17:42:47
"Night" by Eli Weisel has been re-issued by voxwoman 2006-01-24 19:17:45
(and newly translated again). It's in Oprah's book club. I haven't read it since High School, but it's a first person account of his experiences in one of the camps (I don't remember if it was Aushwitz or Buchenwald). Get your son to read it.

Jews as a group have only been "united" since WWII; and it's my understanding that they (as a group) have done a whole lot to support the civil rights movement in the US.

I'd also like to point out that the US has been criticized for stepping in to try to prevent genocide in the several times we've done this over the past 20 or so years.

The world really needs to make up its mind about US military intervention in what is technically an "internal matter" for nations.

Personally, I would support action taken to prevent genocide, but it would be best coming from as big a coalition of nations as possible, and not solely from the United States.
