I don't doubt that there are a few skeletons in Israel's closet (and a few out on the front porch, for that matter), but I tend to cut them a bit of slack on that. They are surrounded by countries that are openly in favour of erasing them from the map (and have given it a go more than once) - they don't have the luxury of lining up for their turn on the soap box.

That being said, I find their recent moves towards normalizing relations with Palestine (very small steps, and painful ones for them) to be encouraging. I don't fall into the trap of telling people how to solve problems of long historical standing. My mother is Irish Catholic and father Irish Anglican - I know when to shut up and listen.
