I need Linux libraries by harold2006-01-24 13:18:19
Recompile the Linux binary? by bwkaz2006-01-24 15:12:24
    As I said... by harold 2006-01-24 17:35:09
Compiling the library won't work because it's a FreeBSD system. I'm not setting up the whole GNU toolchain to get one stinking library. I needed glibc-2.3.2 (above I said 2.2.4, but that's because the app I wanted to run was misreporting) in the Linux compatibility directory (/usr/compat/linux/lib) and did not have glibc 2.3.2. I had 2.1.8 with a symlink to it just like a Linux system would (libc.so.6 > libc-2.1.8.so). It could find the library, it was complaining that it was the wrong version.

I found the easiest way to make it work was to install a different Linux base from the ports tree. It seems nobody has single files downloadable in tar, gzip or any other universal form.

No, not compile glibc: compile the other program. (n/t) by bwkaz2006-01-24 19:32:31
