VENTING a bit - thanks in advance by airborneric 2006-01-24 15:58:31
SOOOO yesterday was a Monday from h4. Come in - all my users start complainig about general weirdness on the network (can't logon, can logon but can't get to email, can logon can't get to email client but can get to web email (which is the exact same machine). I bust my tookus all day trying to figure it out. My pcs on the same subnet as the servers - respond nicely thank you very much - servers are not the issue. I tell the networking folks - they reboot a couple of network things - no dice - things improve a little but 30 minutes later all is goofy again. Leave after 11 hours of not accomplishing squat becasue everyone blames my servers - I hate that. Especially when my servers were not the issue.

THIS MORNING they (the nework team) REBOOT ALL THE ROUTERS. Guess what - everything works better than ever before (network speed at an all time high - direct quote from a network person).

Now I am just about to log out and an email goes out to ALL the higher ups (from a different network person) blaming the SERVERS for the problems yesterday. This is after calling and talking to me TWICE to make sure she knows what the issue was. I replied with the ENTIRE email train to show what the issue really was. Her reply: "OK - so it was a network problem?" HOLY CARP!!!! I can see not taking the blame for something - but to push it off on something else (and someone else being me) when your TEAM failed to correct the issue really ticks me off....

Thanks for the rant - I go home now......
