I'm thinking of it this way...

Let's say you made a copy of a webpage (with full permission) and then altered it to your own preferences. You added some more content to it, but did not remove/alter any of the current content. The intent is to -alter- what you've copied, but not alter the original or change it in any way.

Or even better example: You make a copy (with permission) of a sculpture of a human with your cool 3D printer, and then add on a second head. Everything that -was- there in the original is still there, but you've added to it.

Also, NOT 'modding' because you are making a copy of something, not altering an existing thing.
