checks the status of the request. According to this qotdsubmit at this domain>page Safari supports the status & statusText members, but your error would indicate otherwise. You could change the "if(x.status!=200)" to "if(false)" and see if it works then. I'm not sure about the Firefox issue, I wonder what they changed?
