She was drinking the night before and had just gotten out of rehab for substance (prescription painkiller) abuse. She's been known to down pills and drink, having spent the last five years or so in and out of rehab for various things. She was supposed to have been clean and sober when my sister moved in, but this wouldn't be the first time she's fudged on the truth. She said she didn't pop any pills last night, but who knows.
