| You're reminding me of my .dk-equivalent-of-high-school days. We had a music teacher who was an alcoholic and as if that's not enough his daughter was in our class, really wasn't easy for her. On a normal day he was just obnoxious, on bad days you can perhaps imagine. Him they fired eventually (without even trying to get him some help, after covering for him for years, but that's another rant). But he wasn't even the worst.
The worst was my mathematics teacher. He is to date the most unpedagogigal teacher I've ever had (met a lot, my mother's a teacher), which is fairly bad when the subject is maths. But not only was his teaching skills bad, he was also hypersensitive to criticism and had been coasting without updating his knowledge of maths and the contents of the course plan for at least ten years. Our whole class submitted a formal complaint about him, but nothing really happened from when it was taken up for consideration till we graduated. Three of us stayed with it for several years afterward. In the end he was forced out because the complaints kept mounting and some of the complainants had a bit of power in a certain area, but it's extraordinary that things had to go that far. |
