I can put off getting a .45.
The "ban all handguns" quip from PM Martin had me a bit concerned going into this election. I actually have only one handgun, and it's a highly customized SmithWesson Model 41 .22 cal target pistol that is just a terrible choice for bank robbing, shooting gang members and competing drug dealers and all of the other things that get headlines.
However, had the Liberals won, I would have immediately gone to Italian Sporting Goods in Vancouver and got a Para Ord LDA .45 just to get in under the inevitable grandfather clause. As things stand now, I can go back to quietly and inexpensively putting little holes in sheets of paper at the local small bore range on the weekends. That's all I want to do anyway - I'm just not the headline-grabbing type. |
