AFAIK, and IANAD, frequency isn't the issue with a defibrillator. The idea here is that during a heart attack, the various cardiac muscles stop working in unison and start each doing their own thing, with the result being that the heart no longer pumps blood efficiently. The defibrillator applies a strong potential across the heart, stopping everything and allowing it to start again by itself in the right sequence of muscular contractions.

Sort of like CTRL+ALT+DEL in Win98.
