It's a fact, sad but true, that a basically nice person can, without ill intent, commit an act with horrible but unintended consequences. This is the reason for the "this knife is sharp, keep away from eyes" warnings on consumer items. All people working with potentially dangerous specialized equipment should be given a clear lecture on those potential dangers. Evidently, this guy was not. Sad.
