This is "just" a criminal case. He can still be sued in civil court, and have to pay millions in damages.

I'm waiting for the lawsuit against him and the company they both worked for (I'm sure some lawyer will figure out a way for the hiring company to be held responsible for letting this doofus near deadly medical devices)
