From what I've heard from people that took the course last semester he might be as bad or possibly even worse at Linux. Apparently the school has some sort of $name-of-student+$date policy in place when it comes to assigning passwords for the linux machine. I don't know what the exact criteria are for determining the date, could be the date the course started, could be something else.

Anyway, last september, the teacher forgot the date scheme as well, so the first class he divided everyone into groups which were to chronologically try one date at a time until they got it. A manual brute force attack, I kid you not. From what I hear, no one actually did this but the teacher (he went al the way back into the '80s) and the rest of them just spent a couple of hour of their time surfing and whatnot: the school uses win32 machines + putty to ssh into the linux machine(s).

To top things of, he absolutely reeks of alcohol at all times. I am so not looking forward to that course.
