great teachers get to stay in class forever, and ever ... and ever.</sarcasm> Can you tell I work in education? The problem isn't exactly limited to faculty either. The unions and seniority insure that newer and better employees get laid off before and older ones do. Note: I am not exactly anti-union, I have seen the kind of things that could have happened without some sort of protections, but the protections can often protect the wrong people.
