There is no excuse. Period. Intent or not he should have forseen the outcome. I would say that lack of intent was well and truly taken into acount since the verdict was involuntary manslaughter. Realize it said the maximum sentence is 10 years, not that is what he will get. I would be interested in knowing what the final sentence is but I doubt they will publish that.
