'Reams' or 'Realms' by lurker692006-01-24 02:04:22
Reams, looks right by SciSSorS2006-01-24 02:14:15
    The supercomputers by lurker692006-01-24 02:16:08
They will, in theory by SciSSorS 2006-01-24 02:24:34
but if the stream is big enough, they'll be needing to found the "supercomputers of Nasa_at_home" internet computing grid.
When we see that "astrophysical research" is already using both "spare bandwidth" and "spare computer cycles" to crunch the loads of pictures they make in their telescopes, how will NSA "motivate citizens to go crunching for them too ?

it's much more fun to crunch for "prime numbers" or for "extra terrestrial" stuff, or "pure science". When you find something, it 'll be NEWS.
IF you find something useful for NSA, it will be ... covered-up.
And your chance finding a hidden "date" is MUCH bigger than finding that hidden "terrorist plot" as well. If the picture contains the message "This is how I look, picture me wearing a red hat, in Picadilly Station, tomorrow at 9pm" then you will have found "proof" of someone using that escort service, but nothing more.
If you find "Abram, bring the bomb to Picadilly Station" they will certainly have included the date and time in another "unrelated" picture.
