you should be able to do FOV==360. although, with rectangular projection, it will look REALLY messed up. with fisheye projection, FOV==720 actually looks OK. obviosly, there is some wierdness involved, but it does look OK. Im just trying to remember which version of the quake engine I saw those tests done with.
