I usually ask the friendly computer corner store	by shminux	2005-12-19 21:20:35
people to assemble a desktop when I need one. It ends up about 30% cheaper than any major brand, and the support is just around the corner (warranty is 1 year labour, usually, plus whatever it is for parts from the manufacturer). The laptops are a different story, I'd go for a brand name (Toshiba is my current favorite), just steer clear from Sony :).
