Leaving 300mm of exposed phase wire in behind the distribution board is a BAD THING.

the load crack, and actinic white flash as it came into contact with one of the many exposed earth terminals on the old board was very impressive, and was echoed by the sound of at least 3 sets of computer fans winding down.
