Actually, our Barbies (some 30 dolls by the end of our childhood) were in a series of convoluted plot twists that could only have been inspired by the most bizarre soap operas that my sister watched. But yes. When I played with my friends, I played murder mystery barbie. Also domestic violence barbie. Invariably, I'd use blue eyeshadow to create bruises, either on the neck for murdered barbie, or on her arms and body for domestic violence barbie. And red lipstick for blood.
