Your thoughts on Dell's & HP's service & support. by snate2006-11-19 12:55:59
  Dell support by Glytch78 2005-12-19 14:15:49
I think I'm the only one on this board that doesn't have a firery red hot hate for Dell.

A friend of mine came to me once asking about what laptop to buy. He showed me a dell flyer and some cheap laptop. I told him because compaq (at the time) and HP and whoever else was plopping cheapy systems on the world then dell had to as well to keep up. It comes to (in a sence) you get what you pay for.

I also told him that I've never had a problem with Dell's support. I've read that they had (at the time) recieved many awards for doing such a good job with support.

When everything was said and done he got a higher end dell laptop. Eventually something in the OS went wonky and he had to call itno the help desk. They told him what to do, hung out on the phone to walk him through every little step.

He called me up a few days later to let me know about the whole experiance with the support person he had. He told that he was never so happy and pissed at the same time before. Happy that I told him to use dell because of their support and pissed because I wasn't there to fix his computer for him.
