Taps was a recording played over a loud speaker at the fineral of that friend of mine who passed a few years ago (the one who's grave I visited while we were down at the base for the air show).

It would have been nice if a person was there playing it, even if it was just using one of those "mouthpiece" things you mentioned instead of actually playing it on a real bugle.

It is sad that the military itself doesn't respect its veterans enough to use human buglers at military funerals.
