Merry Christmas vs. Happy Non-Denominational... by Illiad 2005-12-19 11:13:08
...Holiday.

I'm quite areligious, but saying "Merry Christmas" does not offend me. Imagine that!

Enough with this Politically Correct rubbish. The "Christmas ethic" is AFAIK universal across all cultures: Peace and goodwill, giving and compassion. If someone says "Merry Christmas" to you, I don't believe it's an attempt to convert you, repress you or otherwise offend you. And if you do take offense due to some bizarre cultural pedantry, I'll play a small violin for you.

Likewise, if someone says "Happy Holidays" to you and you're a "Merry Christmas" fascist remember that its the sentiment, not the words, that ultimately matter. My tiny violin will be at your disposal as well, should you require it.
