read fraud, but hey who's counting. it allows for increased depreciation cost and while salaries are paid, the company looses money and taxes are less for a while, big return on investment, bonuses are paid and company goes out of business from tax debt, with negligible assests (since they sold the land) or if they didnt' sell land, but leased it the home buyers assn suddenly is responsible for the taxes on the land, which screws them again (with a shoddy house, on land they paid for 2x.)
