..there's no actual delivery date specified on the sales contract, nor does the purchaser have any recourse as to the penalties and fines levied against the seller.
If you were building a house and the builder was a month late and you had penalty clauses in the contract, you could fine the builder under that clause. With a car dealership, they are actually rather scrupulous not to have a delivery date in the sales contract because they cannot guarantee a delivery date. They, the dealership, do not manufacture the product themselves, but rely on the parent company's factories to deliver on time.
This is what's so frustrating about the whole thing. I have no recourse other than writing a letter and hoping that someone gives enough of a crap to actually read it and respond.
